I have a Ducato series 8, 22 plate, 2.2bhp.
I am completely bewildered by the oil level check and filling procedure, as it has no lipstick, my opinion is that the on board digital read out is not working correctly, I have read the driver manual a dozen times ,and just cannot make head nor tail of the procedure to get the true oil level, I had it serviced last August its first long life service, at fiat professional at York, after I had a long talk to the manager about the ridiculous filling procedure, of topping up at 0.2 ltr at a time and updating each addition on the on board read out computer,
There are so many contradictions with procedure the engine has to be run up to running temperature which i understand, but how is the oil change able to run an engine to temperature from an empty sump, also there is on the top up screen 8 bars, and 6 being the maximum, the remaining 2 bars are supposedly for "underfill and overfill, mine is reading at number 7 bar, which is above maximum,
We did a 9.000 mile trip round Greece and Turkey after the service and the gauge is still reading 7 bars, surely it would have dropped a bit ,and have needed a small top up at least, sorry for long post, had anyone got any input please,
