hi all im new to the site and should be acquiring a nice seicento sporting for little money soon and am wondering about turbocharging, i am used to such cars as subaru impreza's and escort rs turbo's so would like another turbo car, i am just wondering about the procedures of it, would it be easier to put such engine as a r5 gt turbo engine or a punto gt turbo engine or are these too big for the engine bay, what will the standard engine and internals take with a turbo applied to the standard car??

The uno tub/punto tub is probably too heavy but can be done with a lot of fabrication. I don't think anyone has done a Renault engine swap. The original engine can be turboed, but they tend to go bang -- we're working on it............
All turbo Centos eat money. Not done yet, but the cheapest way may well be to pinch the engine and box out of a Mito 155/500 Abarth SS.
A sensible (pricewise) mod is the 1.4 16v SuperFIRE transplant -- see posts by Arc, Kritip, foxyemx, J333EVO. 110 bhp with factory reliability, can be tweaked to 140 bhp, real stealth car.

R5 gt IIRC and PGT definately are too tall for the engine bay, you can do it as it has been done but you would need to fabricate a lot just to get it in there, hope you have got a decent budget as you will know it isnt cheap to run a turbo never mind make one
Use search, guides, FAQ's as its well covered, maybe worth looking at the 1.4 superfire threads as this seems to be the way it is starting to go rather than the turbo route

Also will add though, we do get a lot of threads like this almost nearly everyday so the lack of obvious help isnt meant to be offensive its just people post about turboing cars and never return hence a lot of 'dreamers' so established members air on the side of caution when offering help on subjects like this
If you are serious and judging by your car history i think you are once youve put a few posts up etc and keep us updated on the progress people will offer more assistance
