I'm wondering if it's possible to put a tachometer in a seicento that me and my bro are currently re building.

At present it doesn't have one but I've been informed that this is the place to ask how much work is involved!

It's a mpi seicento and I'm aware that they run off the ECU?

Any advice would be grately appreciated, as I'm surely every owner would love to keep an eye on the RPM!

Cheers

There are a few threads here on doing it. Ideally you need the Sei Sporting dash (has the cut out where the tach fits). If you're lucky the wiring may be there in your car. Try and get the connector (both ends!) too -- they're weird.

Diagrams, wiring diagrams, and etc. in the Seicento Technical Manual (downloads section).

I'm pretty sure loom was standard on MPI cars so the connector should be there. Forget the sporting dash, mount the rev counter in line of sight -where you can see it.

In order not to open a new post, I have put it here, the installation of an original revcounter sporting in an sx.
I was already testing a non-original one but in the wiring that already exists, it did not mark well. (minor rev)
Being a 2001 model, it has serial wiring, so it's just cutting and connecting. Otherwise you have to look for signal in coil, and light wiring and + and -
