Hi

Just bought my first car, a yellow seicento sporting abarth! :slayer: does any one have any hints or tips of things to do to it to make my life a little easier in the long run?

Many thanks :)

What's the service history, age and mileage like? Unless you got it from a dealer, and they did it as part of their pre-delivery service, I guess first thing I'd be looking it is oil & filter change - check the air filter, plugs, leads, gearbox oil level, brake pads & discs, drums & shoes and - depending on mileage/age - cambelt/tensioner/water pump may need changed. Look as well for any obvious signs of rust - particularly in the rear arches from inside the car. As long as it's been well looked after, and you continue to do so, there's no reason why this car won't do 100k+.

ps. Get a Members Motors thread up with some pics (y)

Hi

Its currently done 86k on an s plate. It has service history pretty much back to new, and only had 4 advisories on the previous MOT (CV gaiter replacemant, slight leak of gas from front exhaust, n/s brake hose slightly deteriorated and rear offside road wheel bead rim) I already have the gaiter and hose ready to fit, but am a complete newbie at it all! I have already bought a complete brembo front disk and pad set up.

So would I be right in saying that the seicento is just a re-bodied cinq then? I've already painted the rocker cover, installed hid lights, the wheels are currently being painted, along with the callipers and drums (black spoke's - silver rim) Have got clear side repeaters and front indicators on the way as well . . . . anything else I can do?
