General Seicento Safety Recall

Just phoned fiat, they say otherwise... :(

which sucks because my car actually does smell like fuel every now and again...
Did you ring Fiat or a dealer? If it's a dealer, I'd ring another one just in case... maybe you can get away with a new tank even if you don't need it

You could tell them you think your tank might be leaking and ask for a quote, if they are nice they might inspect it first.

If youve had a replacement chances are you would have to pay however you work for fiat in some capacity so you might be an exception

Its a safety related recall. Legally they should have responsibility to replace it (if its due to a known design defect), as if someone were to be seriously injured or killed using it (due to the design flaw) then the manufacturers would be liable.

It applies in the aero industry...so why should a car manufacturer not be liable?

Mines was done but I got it done again cos the recall stuff on Vosa says it must be changed with good parts, mines was leaking again so it was changed.

My Sei was originally bought in Belguim and taken to Jersey, im in the process of registering it in the UK just now, anyone know if this just covers UK bought cars?
