hi anybody know if punto or any other fiat seats fit x1/9

I doubt if Punto seats would fit due to the differences in the way they are mounted. I seem to remember hearing that early MX-5 seats do fit nicely though, readily available in leather they are a good, supportive and comfortable seat and come with an option for speakers integrated into the headrest - just what you need on an open top 2 seater.

Thanks jimbro it is the width of the seats which is the problem, the punto seat has the same frame fitting as the x 1/9 it is the inner sill which is the problem as it is bigger than the punto.i can adapt the rear fitting on the frame but i will keep my eye out for some mazda seats

I assume you have a late X1/9 then - the earlier ones had the chassis side of the rail welded to the chassis. Later ones has the rails bolted down (I had forgotten about that despite having owned and stripped a late model).
I'm surprised the Punto seats would "fit" so easily as they appear to have a bigger clearance from the floor than in an X1/9 which means you would be sat even higher which would make for interesting clearance when it comes to getting your knees under the dashboard.
I agree that width is the largest issue in this matter. I had to spend ages trying to find a race seat that would fit cleanly - in the end we had to remodel the central tunnel to make a little extra room.

Jim: your right about the miata seats.
so shaun what you need to find is a first gen mx-5 89-95 and if im not mistaken there is some fabrication required i think you have to take the "runners" outta the mx5 and weld to the floor of the X , as the rails under the miata seat are set wider then the X1/9's. but the seat its self fits nicely and are very comfy. if you can luck out and find the aniversary edition miata they have leather and i think cool design. you can spot these bec they only came in a metalic brownish wine color. and they have a "M" (in,script) insgnia on the side good luck post pics when done

Thanks for the replys i will look into the mx5 seats, dont really want to mod the tunnel but if i have to i will.ps it is the later model 1987
