When carrying a passenger in the front seat with the seatbelt fastened the light and buzzer keep coming on.
Under the passenger seat there are 3 connectors, an orange one I presume goes to the airbag, a grey one that goes to the seatbelt stalk and a black one that goes into the seat squab and then to the seatbelt stalk. I have disconnected the black and grey connectors and the light and buzzing have stopped. What does the connection that goes into the seat squab do?

Tells it that a person or heavy item is on the seat and the stalk wires tell if the clip is in use. I get the same thing every now and then, only when the seat is being used.

Mine is very intermittent ( on drivers seat ), I can’t be arsed trouble shooting, so when I was sorting out another minor snag, I disabled the warning buzzer for the seat belt warning. Light still comes on occasionally but I can live with that, and have for some time.

I have since reconnected the one that goes direct to the seatbelt with no issues.

I am leaving the one connected to the pressure sensor in the seat squab disconnected for the time being. Everything seems OK

I have the same problem on the drivers seat and have also disabled the buzzer. Mine would stop buzzing if I jiggled the tongue about a bit. The sensor in the buckle must be dodgy, I suspect it’s probably a non serviceable part and the only solution is to replace the buckle.

Ok if you can get another secondhand buckle, as a new one costs a lotta money ( I needed a rear seat belt buckle for the single seat as I’d trapped it and broke the housing getting it untrapped ) quote from fiat: £176......plus VAT! ..... repaired the housing
