Could anybody advise if it is possible to put the seats (front and back) from a late model Panda Dance into an earlier Car. IE one with the Hammock rear seats.
We are looking to replace our rather tired Pand with a fresher car but those rear hammock type seats just don't look safe enough to hold a child seat properly.

Also anybody got a decent Panda for sale in the North of England?????

If you have a MkI and want to fit MkII seats it's a faff. Cheaper and easier to get the originals re-covered.

If you're after a newer Panda my Fizz could be available. I'm toying with the idea now I have my Fantasia, Y10 and curtain twitching neighbors.

Hi where are you?
Definitely need to do something, the current one is a daily driver for my daughter and it's unsafe at the moment, i won't let here drive it. Needs a full Brake rebuild, welding, etc etc

Near King's Lynn, Norfolk.

The tail of my Fantasia thread includes my Fizz. She's a one owner from new, high mileage but has a frankly ridiculous history file. Too good for my commute.

Yes, seen that but it's the Hammock seat again.

We looked at a Red one in Leicestershire last night, looked very very shiny too. Found some reasonably serious rust. Could have been welded and I might have been prepared to do that but not with those seats.

Hi I also know of a red one in Leicester. I don't think it's the same one that you looked at. I think its the same model as mine (1000CL) so will have the proper bench seat in the back. If your interested pm me I can tell you where it is. Cheers Chris.

To be honest I'm not sure what your issue with the seats is. Its a 1980's designed car, and any car of that age isn't going to be 'particularly safe', but everyone survived ok back then.

Even the later mk2's didn't have isofix, so I can't see how you think a hammock seat will be any worse than none hammock seats tbh.

My issue with the Hammock is that it was very insubstantial and totally the wrong shape to put a child seat in. It tends to have a rounded corner where the seat and back meet, where as the child seat needs a proper right angle, or close too. I didn't want to risk getting the Car home then finding it just wasn't safe.

Appreciate these Cars won't get many NCAP stars, but it's no use if the seat won't hold in place properly.

Problem is solved for now as she bought a Nova on Friday, that's not to say she won't be tempted back in to a Panda again and we have still to work out what to do with the Dance. Repair it, sell it, store it....... decisions decisions
