dunno if anyone has had this problem before, ive had a new n/s lower arm fitted due to worn ball joint, that cured one knocking just recently its started again but isnt consistant sometimes its on the right and sometimes on the left, 3 separte garages have looked at it and said there is nothing visible no play anywhere but the agree there is a knocking. seems to be more so when driving over a speedhump. its driving me insane! had tracking done too. still no better.

what year? & how long since lower arm fitted??

had new lower arm fitted about 3 weeks ago, garage have had it in 3 times and ive watch them check anti roll bar top mounts ball joints steering rack, really hacked off with it now! its a 2007 07 reg last of the old shape, its ahs the later lower arms on it if that makes a difference.

i had the same prob with my tw200.. anti roll bar bushes, you hear it more a low speed on humps at first....... the bushes are bonded so u have to change full bar and links

thanks for your help, are you talking about the drop links on the ends? or the bushes that bolt down under the d bracket through the lower arm rear bush? or all of them?

diagnosed loads of them, very common. Dunc, you cant mistake the constant knock of anti-roll bar bushes.

my 57 reg had the anti roll bar replaced at 22k , now at 46k there knocking again and my local fiat dealer says now that its just into its 3 rd year warranty that they wont replace them under warranty , even tho they were replaced once b4, its a bit poor that a vehicle that aint even 3 yrs old needs these doing for the 2nd time, surely its faulty parts there using or very poor quality parts (n)

the knock sound like its comimg from behind the bulkhead, and if the vehicle rocks from side to side sounds like something is moving behind the pedles, its been to 3 separte garages and they all say theres nothing wrong, mine is well out of warrenty now, its just about to tick over 98k and never had anything other than 1 lower arm

on ebay theres a kit for £49.99 . you just cut off the brackets on the original and the kit comes with new brackets and bushes and new bolts. the first time you change them it,s not to easy. but the next time you change the bushes (about a tenner for 2 ) it,s easy.
