right if you hear reading this thread you need help or you just browsing the fourms. but if you want a sat Navy to locate any adress in the uk with a post code or you want to get to a new destination or street or city you will need a sat nav because back in the day  we used road Atlas that you had to pay some what of a lot of money each year then go to the back to see how far it is and how long will it be but these days are gone. :slayer:

for those who just want the basic road map you can pick a sat nav for under a hundred quid these day aka asda or some cheap place but Byers be warned these sat nav problem ain't up to date all so you pay for what you get.
if some sat nav reduce because of a newer model has come onto the market well don't forget these thing will last at least 3 years plus if taken car of and regular updates.

why the reason I'm wright this thread is because i got nabbed by a sat nav that was LG LN505 on there web site there are no service for them to even up date the software. i brought the nav on sat reduce from 140 quid knocked them down to 120 witch ant that bad but buyer beware.
even tho it was thin and grate display but it was total wast of money. it had no web site updates nor had gps updates i couldn't load the map by SD card that came with it 512mb. so i took it back and blaged my way out even tho there was nothing wrong it was totally useless so i they gave me a garmin 200 with was grate it had everything accept SD card and usb up link and traffic/accident black spots grrr.
it was better than the version that i had and i was searching the INTERNET for a proper sat nav and i didn't no witch one to chose from until i did reach search for one that i came to notice that there was subscription for 12 month for speed came aka tom tom expensive then a couple of bob each year for speed camera. so it got me wondering what Else didn't people no about these little gizmo's that can become our little love or a little
so this is how it goes
road map of uk basic
road map the world Sky the limit cost money !!
speed camera free updates
speed camera 6 month to 12 months cost money
accident black spot free updates
accident black spot 6-12 months cost money
SD slot/free SD card free
SD slot/pay SD card
and loads more etc
you see some of these sat nav are little devils most new  so why do we want a sat nav its not for local use only going out of town say Edinburgh festival or the V festival. you can use these services . but beware of thieves  even the Handel of the sat nav will tell them that you have got one so remove it and any trace of a sat nav in your car put it in the boot or under the seat some where that no one no that you have got one.

so just rember have a good look before you by search on the internet about the specs of the device and you chose the right for you and dont be foold by the looks as well.
take care of what you by and it will take care of you :D (y) :slayer:

To me that made little/no sence... but incase you cant understand the above...

Translated & summerised it goes something like this:

"I bought an LG 505 it looked good and was very cheap... but it wasn't very good...so after taking it back to the shop i bought a garmin 200 which was much better but didn't have speed camera locations installed.."

road map of uk basic
road map the world Sky the limit cost money !!
speed camera free updates
speed camera 6 month to 12 months cost money
accident black spot free updates
accident black spot 6-12 months cost money
SD slot/free SD card free
SD slot/pay SD card
and loads more etc
i have no idea what this is supposed to mean... "accedent black spot cost money...":confused:

Essentially i think this guy is trying to say, you get what you pay for, and something along the lines of basic options such as uk roads and single speed camera updates, are free, but when you want options such as european mapping and long term speed camera's they will cost larger sums."

Other points he trys to make incude:

"Dont go camping with your sat nav... it'll get stolen
Dont go to gigs with your satnav.. it'll get stolen
dont leave your sat nav bracket on the windscreen of your car... it'll get stolen..."

All valid, but slightly obvious points.

Never the less thank you for your input, all opinions are valid and i'm sure this will help someone...
