Punto (Mk1) Sam's 60sx :)

I bought a '98 Punto about a month ago. 12months MOT 6months tax 62k on the clock, £550. I had a 55s as a first car and then upgraded and then upgraded and then went to a diesel which turned out to have massive issues so I lost quite a lot of money so I thought I'd go back to cheap carefree motoring . It's midnight blue and the bodywork is reasonable with a few chips and one thick scratch on the passenger rear wing.

Anyway, would like to do a few things to tidy her up and make her my own. First, I removed the orange indicators and side repeaters and replaced with clear ones. I also added my Sony HU.

No photo's yet but I'm hoping to be more active! I'm currently the highest bidder on some GT3 alloys which are anthracite :yum: Also want to tint windows and smoke parts of (but not all) the rear lights!

and thats it for now!

Splitter I've been considering but I had a corsa c with Splitter as standard and it just kept getting ripped off cos I park too close to curb lol, it's a definite option though!

Blu it was your gt which has made me want my car to look like one haha

lol, well mine is a completely stock GT. To look like Molly (thats her name) it would need the widemouth bumper, skirts & spoiler; the only other external thing done to the car is clear indicators and side repeaters. And being a GT it will sit a little lower than yours.

I know! Quick question actually, are the sideskirts colour coded or are they black like bumpstrips? Cos I found some from a black GT for £30 but werent sure if they'd need repainting so didn't bother...

Mine are colour coded but i believe that thats a GT3 thing. I have seen many GT's with black ones rather than colour coded. But i'm just speculating really - i'm not really an expert in Punto's and the differences between models, I just had to buy this GT when it came up for sale - save it from potentially being bought by some chav who'd ruin it There is only around 900 left in the UK now i believe so it was worth saving

Liquid Knight are you a mofoing mind reader!?!? I've been looking in to one of those... Do you know what the cost would be for a mechanic to change over the cam?

If i lose the auction I will definitely be in touch Orange would be awesome contrast but my girlfriend would never get in the car again

Does the 60sx have a cabin filter? Also, I doubt it but if I changed the filter would it stop the heating smelling like curry powder haha...

Currently close to buying a p75 camshaft... I'm the high bidder and my max bid is over double what its at now, how much should I be paying for one?

Hey Sam, well i bought my first car (punto 60s) for £40 and it was a pile of poo, i got the engine working and then started to make it "my Car" so i went and done the following:
Exhaust tip
gsr induction kit
nice new stereo
Parcel shelf speakers
black wheel trims bought from ebay
new seat covers and matts
then 2 bucket seats for the front when i had saved up a few pennies

complete transformation on it, all my mates loved it !
Just like to clarify, im not a boy racer

Plus made a tidy profit on that car :slayer:

Paying a mechanic to swap a cam'?

It would work out a lot cheaper to buy a socket set and Haynes manual. Better still if you're ever out this way it'll cost you a pizza and/or beer.

Tinted my rear lights (the indicator and reverse light bit, not all of it) I wanted a subtle greyish smoke look but it came out dark dark grey and an awful finish will remove and try again after my exam on Monday

you have to t-cut the tint back after spraying.. that will make them look all ace and shiny Just keep t-cuttin' until its the shade you want.
