For any that don't know RTFM stands for 'read the f##king manual!' and as a bike mechanic this is something I have been advising colleagues and customers to do for years... The night before last however I was guilty of not following my own advice... I decided to replace the cv joint boot so I stripped the hub carrier off and peeled the old boot back for a look inside... It seemed to me at the time that the best thing to do would be just to quickly snip the ties holding the inner boot on and whisk it out so I could get to the circlip on the inside of the outer cv joint easier..........

... I'm sure you can imagine what happened next!!!

I have cleaned up the mess and I have 3 litres of gearbox oil waiting to go in... All the other MOT work went really well and I have to say that taking the half shaft out of the car makes fitting the boot/ working on the cv joint really easy but to be honest I wouldn't reccomend it!!

I'll go back to cleaning the egg off my face now!!! :D:eek:

Luke...

Luke. How you manage that? Not even I managed to :p

Although I was told by the college lecture helping me in no uncertain terms 'Don't pull that ****ing thing or you'll have gearbox oil everywhere. We've no replacement gearbox oil hear, and you'll be clearing it up'

Needless to say a mate held it making sure it didn't budge :p

I've generally been going on a long established learning method: Trial and error... unfortunately over the last couple of months the errors have been quite spectacular!!

The successes have been fairly satisfying and there's been a few of them but they are nowhere near as funny!! :D

And it did come to pass that Luke became the 4th Nominee :D :D

He will be forever haunted by the following smiley

I'll hand it to you, as you seem to put your hand at most things more than me for the first time. I always have to have someone holding my hand the first time I do anything. I fear the trial and error mothod :p

I just fear for my sanity and my fellow train passengers safety; Public transport is killing me!!! The only upside is enjoying a nice cold beer whilst travelling at 70MPH totally legally on the way home!!;)

Hopefully the old girl will go in on Wednesday for a partial re-test unless I can balls anything else up in the meantime!!

Cheers, Luke. (y)

Completeley forgot (I think) it was a boozy evening and the girls were not subjected to too much Panda banter!!

I'm trying not to think about Agnes until Sparky is sorted!!

I still need to come and get those doors...

So much to do; so little time

How's about this: We could descend on poor old Kev like Valkyries in Pandas now that Sparky's rockin' again and swing by Bridges on the way, Ricambio is down the road too and my dad says it's worth a visit just to have a chuckle at his mums crazy neon nuova panda!!

What do you reckon Kev/Tom...
