Styling Rota GT3 7x16 ET40 wheels

Only 4 more days to go before I can take my first ride in my Fiat 500! :slayer:

One of the first things that will have to be changed are the wheels (it's a POP).

Does anybody know if the Rota GT3 in 7x16" 4x100 ET40 will fit the car (I know I'll need special bolts)?

I will be ordering them from the UK so I can't just send them back if they don't fit.

Nope, you need 4x98 and et35 to fit a 500.

You can use wobbly bolts to fit 4x100, but the ET is worse, it has to stay at spec AFAIK

PCD 4X100 to PCD 4X98 is easy to correct with PCD correction, floating coller or "wobbly" bolts or nuts if car has studs, some folk don't like them, but we used the nuts on our turbo Cinq with no issues whatsoever.

ET is not a fixed value, it relates directly to the width of the wheel and the distance from centre line to back of bolt facetherefore if you are going form a 6" wide wheel to a 7" wide wheel the ET will be different. If the ET number is small the wheel sits further out of teh wheel arch, the bigger the number the further inside the wheel arch it sits.

Also very important is the centre bore, the locates the wheel on the hub and takes some of the load of the wheel, on most but not all Fiats/Alfas/Lancia's its 58.1mm, although be careful of GP wheels as it has Vauxhall fitment (same platform as Corsa) which is smaller at 56.1mm IIRC therefore the wheel will not fit on the hub and the PCD is 100 to further complicate things.

If its bigger you can often get spigot rings to change the centre bore, in fact OZ wheels use spigot rings on there wheels to make them fit to variuos cars from new, this often makes buying OZ wheels even easier as you can buy new OZ spigot rings to make correct CB.

If small you can take wheel to engineering company and get them machined out to correct size, did this before caost about £10 a wheel.

ideally get the weels with the right offset but hubcentric spacers and longer bolts can be used to obtain the right offset as well
