Technical rocker gasket :-)

hi all,has any1 here ever replaced the rocker cover gasket on 1.9 el scudo?? had a bad oil leak from there,i bought the gasket,as a mate said he would do it for me,but when he looked,he changed his mind,anyway i took it to garage who said they would do it 4 £70,however,they rang bk later that sataday and said i had the wrong gasket,but cuz i needed the van bk 4 the nxt day,he siliconed it 4 me????and it seemed to do the trick,but i have noticed that theres a little bit off oil seeping out from the silicone,this is only slightly,and ive checked the gasket and its the right1,so im thinking the garage just bull****ed me,cuz of the involement in getting at it????? so im thinking i just,get it done,with another mates help SO ANY TIPS/ADVICE WOULD COME IN HANDY,ALSO A ROUGH TIME SCALE,OR ANY SPECIAL TOOLS ILL NEED???
