Why would somebody rip out all the connections out at the end of the main wiring looms into the engine bay and attempt a very bad rewire using random wires ineptly crimped halfords terminals and bare wires the resulting hideous bodged tangle at the mercy of any probing spanner or screwdriver. :shrug:For some reason I think this car has been like this since I bought it in 97.

Having chanced upon Vehicle Wiring Products Ltd and studied the wiring diagrams long enough I realised that I could solve this once and for all with a crimp tool and professional terminals and connectors and OE spec split convoluted tubing. :eek:Its only taken a whole week of lengthy spells in the garage. The result should be vaguely resemble the original...

Put a new alternator in for good measure always a horrible job it is stuck down the back. By some weird freak the old one fell out between the subframe and steering rack but of course this could not be replicated with the new one even though it was the same size. So had to go in from the top PS fluid dripping and coolant everywhere, the PS connections have to come off and for some reason undoing the mounts also undos the 2 halves of the water pump. Bizzarre.
