Hello, i got a 90:s Fiat Panda mk1/Seat marbella whit the non-fire 903cc engine.
Im wondering if there is an easy way to fit a Rev-o-meter to it?
Would be nice to see how high it revs

Thanks!

Hi, Put simply..NO.
But have you considered fitting a 999Fire engine ? You would be amazed at the acceleration !!!!!! The Marbella is set up for a heavy old-fashioned engine and twitches like a hyperactive stallion if you fit the lighter, modern 999 into it. You'll have to fit an extra mount on the front o/s wheelarch, but that's an easy job. Trust me, youy'll outdrag porche's for the first 100'; just long enough to make your point and embarress them.

To bad then!
Would be very nice whit a new engine, the problem is its pretty hard finding one for the right price..?!

im also thinking about buying a new car next year so i dont want to spend to much money on it.

Uhm... I don't know where you live, but FIRE engines are NOT expensive.. figure you can buy a complete donor vehicle for about 250 euros if you shop around a bit..

hmm, maybe...
So can someone be kind enough to tell me in wich cars u can finde the 999Fire or simmilar?? :)

Thx!

In this part of the world - Pandas and Unos are the most common (in carbed form - beware later injected engines may not have a mounting/drive points for the distributor or petrol pump).

Thing is, it's going to be the same job to fit a tachometer, and while I'd tend to agree that the FIRE is probably the better of the two engines, I'm not sure it's worth the effort to change a 45 BHP engine for another 45 BHP engine, even if the FIRE has better torque figures and maybe weighs a bit less.

P.S. if you want to persue the "revometer" idea, try a Google search for something like "tachometer kit" - especially if you are a dab hand with a soldering iron.
Just make sure it's an appropriate fitting for a 4 cylinder 4 stroke with conventional/old style distributor.

possibly K2625 DIGITAL TACHOMETER at 20UKP from Maplins
