Technical Rev counter

Im thinking of getting a rev counter in my sei S next moth but havent a clue which is the neg wire on the coil has anyone got any idea there is a black one and a white one but dont wanna tap into the worng one and haven't got any equipment to test it?

Get a multimeter from somewhere like Maplin http://www.maplin.co.uk. under a tenner. As its AC power, it may not actually matter which one yu tap into, but dont hold me to that!!

Might be of use to you sorry its in Polish.
It looks like the connector for the rev counter is already there.
Gently tug on your middle vents above your heating controls and they should pop out then get a torch and see if theres anything there.

no, but bear in mind if you buy an aftermarket revcounter it needs to be able to run from a 2 cylinder engine. This may sound schtoopid, but with 2 ignition coils, the signal you get back from the coil negative lead (the revcounter pickup point) is half what you would see from a 4 cylinder coil.

Smurfhead, I thought SX cinqs came with revcounters? or was that only the phase 2 cars....?

Cinq SX's didn't come with rev counters. I had the same problem fitting an aftermarket tacho cos it didn't have a 2cylinder switch option on the unit. the SX didn't have the wiring either, cos i got a set of sporting clocks from ol' "scrappy" and tried to fit them (with lots of swearing) only to find it didn't have the wiring on the connectors for it. I think only the sporting had them fitted. At least thats what the owner manual sez anyway
