Hi folks

My 100hp has an aftermarket stereo fitted. It works well but the facia surround is ill fitting and rattles all the time.

I’ve therefore obtained an original head unit to fit.

Are the connectors usually similar for aftermarket head units (as the original connectors)?

Has anyone on here undertaken the same retro fit of the original head unit and if so are there any particular issues I may come up against.

Cheers

Patrick

If the aftermarket unit has been fitted properly, it will have used proper plugs to connect to the car's originals, leaving them intact. So your 'new' unit should just plug in.

However, the original unit will have been coded to the car.
The 'new' unit has not been coded to your car. You will need the unit code, so that on first turn on you can input the code, and the car will accept it.

If you do not get the code, as you are a donated member, there is a thread about radio codes, https://www.fiatforum.com/i-c-e/85204-one-only-code-fiat-radio-thread.html
Use that to request a code for the 'new' unit.
