Can someone tell me exactly what goes in to reshelling a mk1 turbo into a mk2 60s (1992 1108cc fire spi) shell?

engine and gearbox ,from what I've heard, will match up to existing mount in the 60s, can anyone confirm?

The thing I'm most worried about is the wiring, as the turbo has a completely different type of injection.
What wiring in the 60s can be kept? And what do I need to swap over from the turbo?
What about dashboard, in the 60 uno theres a speedo and thats pretty much it..

Also, I would want to make the mk2 cosmeticly into a mk1. Do mk1 wings and hood and bumber fit a mk2?

All this because I've found a rust free mk2 60s, and turbos are hard to come by here in sweden, especially rust free ones..

Lot's of questions I know, but if anyone could shed some light on this it would be much apreciated!

Yeah basically you remove everything from the 60s taking it back to the bareshell (sell any bits like the engine and gearbox) and then start to fit all the components from the donor car. You'll need to take across pretty much everything including the wireing loom. It'll be a pretty hard and timeconsuming job.

If you want to make a mk2 look like a mk1 why not just find a decent mk1 car, in the Uk there are still a fair few knocking about I saw 3 only yesterday no idea on the availability in Sweden though.

I have bought myself a turbo ie, it has some rust but it will probably be easier to get it in decent shape than to do a re-shell.
thanks for the replies!

yeah I've seen you thread, nice project!
but since i found me an ut there wont be any reshelling for me.
thanks
