Replacing Headgasket on a 1.2 Brava

hi guys, im richie n live up in sunderland and have just got a 1.2 '99 "v" reg brava.ive looked in the search function fot this n found nothing! im looking into repairng the headgasket myself as i cant aforrd the garage now as ive just lost my job! is it hard? what do i need? any help is greatful1 cheers guys!

A head gasket can be a complex job.

I would recommend.

1. a Haynes or work shop manual.
2. a clean garage with a clear work bench
3. a tork wrench
4. patience


Are you sure the head gasket has gone, is water mixing with the oil.

And has the engine overheated as this could cause the head to warp

Don't forget too, you will need the cam locking tool set. If you decide to go ahead I can loan you these
