Hi, Newbie here. I inherited a beaten up Sei (02 plate)which I absolutely love. It's put the fun back into driving and reminds me of driving my first Mini 35 odd years ago!! Unfortunately though she's let me down and I had to be relayed home:( All of a sudden when driving along the engine light came on and it lost power and felt like I was only on three cylinders)The AA guy diagnosed it to one of the ignition coils but did say that he had the same thing on a Punto which turned out to be the ECU. I've changed the coils and it's made no difference. I'm about to buy an ECU off ebay but the last part of the Part number is different.
IAW 59F.M7/HW024 is what I have. what's on ebay is IAW 59F.M7/HW004.
Will this be OK?
Thanks

Did you get good quality replacement coil packs? I have had a faulty cheap one from eBay in the past. Worth double checking perhaps?

I'm afraid I can't help with the ecu but someone should be able to.

Bought x1 new and swapped them both out in turn. thanks for the input.
Cheers

This is a 'oh so common issue' with the 'micro ECUs'!
If either the coil-pack or the ECU is faulty it often damages the other.
Could be a faulty coil/ a wiring issue/ or the ECU, there's a guide on the Punto section to check it all out (Punto/Sei 8v coil-packs are the same).

If it is the ECU you have three options....
1. Buy a 'plug & play' M7 ECU from someone such as this-
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FIAT-SEIC...SELF-CODING-/201423937408?hash=item2ee5cd5f80
Fitted in minutes BUT you do need to replace BOTH coil packs with new units otherwise you could damage the replacement ECU.
You must get a M7 unit & the HW= Hardware Version. Try & get a HW024 instead of the earlier/slower processing HW004.
2. Buy just a second hand ECU, -total waste of time & money, ALL the components in a Code 2 key system have to be from the same car or they won't connect to one another.
3. Buy a second hand complete setup ie: ECU, code box, keys, fuel cap. Will cost about the same as a plug & play unit.... & you then have to change all the locks over!
