Anyone consider renting out their cars to people you don't know & make a few pounds, I can charge £46 per day if I did my Abarth Punto Evo. But I would worry about the car being red lined all the time & abused so I'll never do it, what are your thoughts

Sounds like you need to start up your own hire company! I don't think I'd ever loan out my private car. A friend asked me about a year ago if he could borrow it to take to a festival for £200 (for the weekend) and I laughed in his face. Like you said, it would get ragged the whole time and I'd be stuffed without it if something did happen to it!

Insurance? Collision waiver & excess cover, speeding tickets, parking tickets etc. etc.

As an individual you are not going to get access to credit report facilities which will confirm genuine name and address etc of people renting should things go pear shaped.

Also what if the brakes fail on your car which cuases an accident and a resulting injury claim against you!

Not worth the risk in 100 years IMHO.

Yep I'm being a little harsh but if you can address all the above and have a spare car that can be discarded then give it a go.
