Removing scuffs/scrapes?

Noticed I've got 4 big scrape marks on my bumper just behind the passenger side, rear wheel. Someone in a red car has obviously come closer than necessary, I suspect at Tescos last night (I only noticed it this morning though), hence I've got some of their paint on my car...also they've taken some of mine from the wheel arch in return...bastards!!!

Anyway, as its all cosmetic it shouldn't be too much of a pain to sort out...the only thing I'm not too sure about is what is the best way to get rid of the red scuff marks before I treat the scratches underneath?
Can I use meths or is it likely to strip my paint off too??

And if anyone knows the tw@ who did this, let them know I'd like a quiet word... :(

Really??

Are you serious mate???
Brasso???
Surely not?

Re: Really??

would they t-cut out then use some of that coloured polish, or is it too deep?

Re: Really??

The best way to remove the red paint is to use T-Cut, if the scratches have not gone down to the metal, you can now get coloured T-cut which will cover up minor scratches. worked well for me.

Well..

Can't say absolutely for sure how deep the scratches are but I had a quick look today and I think its only surface scratches for the best part..the paint seems to be on top of mine rather than instead of. Mind you theres some paint missing right down to the plastic around the wheel arch so that'll be a primer upwards job. The main thing is getting rid of the red paint so I can assess whats underneath.

Cheers for all the suggestions anyway, it'll give me a bit of a project for next weekend.

Thanx again. :)
