removing old silicone from bodywork

today i removed the old "limited edition" badges from the side of my car and was left with a sticky but tough residue on the bodywork, it kind of looks like silicone but it wont rub off with rubbing compound and i don't want to scrape it off in case i damage the paint so i was woundering if there was some sort of liquid i could put on it to sofen it up abit so i could rub it off? like brake cleaner or maybe petrol? something that wont damage the paintwork? any ideas anyone? :idea:

hair dryer then rub, if that don't work white spirit, if that don't work, toffee wheel

you can get autoglym that removes wax,tar and sticky stuff smells really nice too.

Concept tar and glue remover €25 euro for a 5l drum good stuff but make sure you don't go near the headlights. It will make ****e of them very small micro cracks
