Sounds fantastic bud

Can I be cheeky and ask about cost, where are Red Dot based m8

Regards Kelvin

The car is completely standard no mods, just a well ran in engine (y) 36k miles. They were surpraised with the standard power and afterwards! looks like a i have a healthy engine

Impressive, shame they don't do a GSR for the 1.9 as that would have helped, maybe consider letting Peter use your car as a test car to get one sorted?

I know what you mean about first gear, the chassis just isn't made for that much power through the front wheels and theres such a fine line between a quick, nippy start and a horrific torque steering wheelspin of death.

It hits 30mph and the red line in 1st so quickly as well I still forget to change up sometimes.

lol i have a feeling knowing my luck il put a induction kit on it and il loose power!! the operator didnt mention to get one, he even said he could get the power 220brake but it be bit lumpy round town, well anyway i going to santa pod next weekend with few of my mates and they all have JaP cars i might even have go down the strip! i thought i better get bit more power to atleast keep them in sight on the motorway journey up there lol, altho ive yet to see how it pulls in 5th and 6th! so maybe good.

155bhp with the smaller turbo from the 120T is what you can expect.

I have a 1.9 mjet 120.

the standard power on it is actually 136 bhp, add to that at least 30 bhp and you get around 170 bhp after remap.

I can easily believe your car was 136bhp as standard (although every car is different and Danny's could easily be 119bhp or 135bhp) but I really do doubt that you'll see 170bhp from the smaller turbo with a remap and induction kit.

It's generally considered that even with a FMIC, Induction kit, remap, exhaust and few other bits the most you will get out of the smaller turbo without getting reliability problems is 155/160bhp.

The same can be said for the larger turbo that it will only go to about 200bhp before it needs to be replaced by something bigger.

Mine 150tjet with the bigger turbo made 179bhp after the remap and induction so I don't think the a car starting with 30bhp less and a smaller turbo will make 170bhp.

Altho it seems to be easy to get more power out of the diesel engines rather than the 1.4 Tjet. i reckon 160bhp is possible on the 120 bhp diesels

we're talking about multijet, you're talking about Tjet.

diesel engines get a much bigger boost with a remap than the petrol ones.

I know what what I'm talking about, my car's a remapped 1.9 D 120 after all.

The limiting factor is still the turbo on both engines (Mjet and Tjet), but if you say so and have first hand experience. One of the main reasons why dervs map so well is because they need a turbo to be useable, most petrols are N/A and thus do not map as well.

Also like I said you car may well be 136bhp standard but that doesn't mean every car that comes out the factory is.

all 1.9 l Mjet bravos with 8 valves are 136 Bhp, it's actually written on the engine.

Didn't Fiat advertise it as 120bhp though, or am I thinking GP?

Mine was 165bhp standard and 179bhp after the map and GSR.

Peak power figures are all smoke and mirrors, it's mid-range you want to look at and mine jumped a good 30bhp-45bhp from 2k right up to about 5.5k, and I'm sure the talkies went up about the same.
