We in the US are currently placing orders for the FIAT 500e which we hope will be delivered by April. As we have none here yet I have no reference for reliability. Can people provide any issues they have had with their 500e's thus far?

Thanks Noob.

I can't think of any inherent reliability issues. There are software gremlins which usually disappear with a restart. There are faults that occur more than once but no real issues. Probably the most common, it seems, are 12v battery problems which happen to a lot of EV's. I've not had any trouble but others have. Supposedly this was solved in an update last year though. Don't expect Fiat to be responsive or to make changes over the air (or at dealers) like some EV makers do. That said they are a much, much more mature vehicle than the previous generation. As they should be for the price!

Welcome. I've had mine for two years, roughly 11k miles. It had software issues from the get go where settings such as speedo and road sign recognition would go to metric factory defaults at nearly every restart. These issues have all been fundamentally fixed by a patch which all cars rolling off the production line should now have in place. I understand this patch also improves battery management of the 12v system (overlap with post above!). No issues that I would describe as trouble, more a nuisance as Fiat and my dealership aren't particularly up to speed. My only real observation is that I should have opted for LED headlights as the halogen ones in mine aren't great.

I'm aware from another forum that some users with the winter packs have had front windscreen failures but this is being attributed to prior stone chip damage rather than an inherent issue with the heated elements in the windscreens/windscreen wipers. Also the "wearable" key has a sealed battery which means it eventually becomes a paperweight so would suggest that any buyers go for the standard fobs instead.
