My normal dealership was Arnold Clark, Alison Street, Glasgow. It's where i bough t the car, and to be honest the service desk people are pretty decent. But the mechanics, well no my stilo wont be going back there...theyve botched the window regulator twice, so im not going to leave it to them to do something like a clutch.

The age old stilo creaking/juddery clutch problem has reared its head on my nice new 54 plate active sport. So i am trying out Reg Vardy Alfa/Fiat Paisley in the hopes of finding a quality fiat dealership mechanic in the Glasgow area. Cant be worse than what ive already had, in all honesty.

I've called up on wed about 4pm, they said i could bring in thursday first thing and they would have a courtesy car waiting for me when i arrive so i can get to work on time...booking had to be changed to friday due to work commitments, gave them a call, absolutely no problem, courtesy car will be waiting for you. Got a text message confirming it all too. Nice helpfull girl on the fone, explained their warranty process, what i needed to bring. Arnold clark almost laughed at me for asking for a courtesy car.

Will Update tomorrow when i hear from the garage. Im also hoping that mechanics used to working on alfa's might show a little more respect to my car than the monkeys at arnold clark allison st.

*Update* Car is in, courtesy car was ready as promised, dealership was open earlier than hours stated, got everything sorted before 8.30am and made it to work on time :) George was very courteous and helpfull.

Courtesy Car: Little 1.2 punto (seems well serviced, runs nice)

Waiting on phone call from technicians RE Clutch and notchy gear changes (I suspect low hydraulic pressure in the clutch). See what happens in the garage, but so far cannot fault them at all.

Picked up the car tonight, clutch feels great. Just a lube job but clutch feels much slicker now (y)

I'm glad you hade a pleasant experience from this dealership.

I took my new Stilo into them for some Airbag and Air Con repairs, because like u I too have experienced "Allison St" and I told Arny when I got me new Stilo that if the car needed any repairs I would not go near them as they were "unable" to rectify an engine problem on my last stilo and it was agreed they would pay Reg to do any necessary repairs.

I asked Reg whilst they had the car to reset the Service Due warning and was immediatly prompted with that will cost £18 please, suffice to say that considering they were about to make £400 from Arny I felt it was a total rip off and I told them to leave it, after all I need to go back to Allison St anyhow and they'll do it as part of the work they are doing.

I also asked whilst they had it if they could test the engine as I felt that it was a little sluggish compared to my last stilo of the same engine, they told me they couldn't test for compression and that the best they could do is a roadtest, which the guy that roadtested came back and said well it is faster than his punto 1.2, so he felt it was ok. Talk about amateurs.

Allison St has it's problems and I was expecting far better service from Reg, sad to say he didn't deliver and wont see my car again, I found the staff totally rude and incompetent, the car wasn't ready when they said it would be, because the tech couldn't decide if he needed to remove my bumper or not.
