Anyone tried redex injector cleaner? Or any other cleaner , additives which are good.

Redex

I tried Redex on my HGT when I got it last year. The previous owners did not appear to have done much to the car, so my guess is that it had not had anything like redex put through it before. It did seem to make a bit of difference after I added it, the acceleration seemed a bit sharper, but it may all be psychological!

I use it on my JTD and there is a difference in terms of less crap being blown out from time to time. Not a massive point in using it in petrol engines as the fuel is a lot cleaner. May be worth a go in an older car mind.

Redex and the cat convertor

I used to use Redex before cats came in, it is great stuff, waited till night pour some in and great clouds of carbon flying out the exhaust. Instant clean engine.

But does Redex afect the chemical elements in the cat or is there no damage?

dont use it in a word it is **** it will be easyer just to fill your car up with fuel and give it a thrash down a main road at high revs will do the same as redex but you can get injectors cleaned at some garages if you like but i dont know how much it costs thow
