2014 Fiat 500 Pop. My front passenger seat recline knob (the round one on the right side of the seat as in the picture) doesn’t adjust the tilt of the seat for passenger comfort. It turns, and there seems to be some tension but the seat back doesn’t tilt forward or backward, yet the top lever to let passengers in and out the back works fine, and returns the seat back to the same position. The backrest is seemingly stuck in one position, and I have a front passenger who wants a more upright seating position! Any idea what could possibly be wrong, how this mechanism works and how to fix? Thank you.

I think the knob is probably stripped, so it's just going round rather than turning the adjuster.

Remove the knob and try turning the adjuster manually.. it could be jammed and that caused the knob to strip..

Or the knob may have been replaced ham-fisted and that damaged it. I think it's a half-moon shape or similar .. it may not have been properly lined up and just forced on.
