Rear wiper motor shaft almost seized - I have done a search but all I can find is "remove the gears" - how ?
The motor is off - the clip is off the shaft and I have removed the back cover.

Lots of grease on the gears but does not look as if hitting the end of the shaft will remove it ?

Is there some kind of trick ??

Take the c-spring off, the plastic bit under it, screw a nut on a shaft and knock it "inwards", minding not to crush the plastic tube. If it does not come out, hit harder ;)

Hi - thanks for the quick reply - I have tried hitting the end of the shaft and it is free but the plastic sleeve is still connected to the wiper motor box. The shaft must be corroded near the nut end because the shaft does not want to pass through the bearing/bush. Do you mean that I put a nut on the end of the shaft and push out both the shaft and the plastic sleeve together ?

Nope, the plastic sleeve stays. Look at the pic attached.

Hi- thanks again. The shaft was very corroded about 3 cm from the wiper end and this was stopping it from being forced out - luckily the plastic sleeve broke and I was able to remove the corrosion with wire wool and then re-assemble the motor. The plastic sleeve seems to be holding ok and the motor is working now and I have a rear wiper again !!

Many thanks for all your help.
