I have a basic 1.2 '02 MkII Punto, in standard spec, which comes without speakers in the rear, by the rear seat belt reels.

I'm looking to put in a pair of basic 13cm speakers just to enhance the sound a bit.

I found the cables with the connector on the driver's side around the fuel filler, but I can't locate the cables on the near side.

Any handy hints, or should I just rip out the fibre panelling until I locate it?

What I'd do fella is spend the cash on upgrading the fronts. I think the Punto 2 has 17cm speakers in the doors, so you could get some good sound coming from them. This also leaves future potential for an amp and subwoofer later down the line, which will enhance your listening pleasure even more!

Have a search in this section, as there's been quite a lot of Punto discussion recently.

I know what you mean, but I'm getting shut of the Punto soon (it's got no poke, is seriously under-equipped and consumes more fuel than my previous 16v ELX) - I just wanted to fill the car with a bit more sound with a pair of basic speakers for little money.

By spending it on the front you will get more bang for your buck - you can always then take them out when you sell and replace them with the OE speakers :)

Possibly, but I'm looking at trading in the Punto to buy new Citroën C4 diesel, and if I decide to upgrade the Citroën's sound system, I'll have it done professionally as part of the purchase.

I was just looking for some advice on how to find the nearside speaker cables in the boot as I can only find the offside. I want some sound from the rear.
