Technical rear pads replacement

Hi,
tried to replace my rear brake pads but could not get the caliper piston to retract.Do I need the special tool mentioned in e-learn or is there a way round this?Any tips please.Thanx

I expect they need a caliper rewind tool.

Normal for the rear pistons to need to be turned at the same time as being pushed.
Very easy with a rewind tool, but a pain in the ar5e without.

For my Alfa 156 I used the Laser 1314 tool, which is under £20.
