Technical Rear fog light help...

Further to the many replacing the rear fog light threads....

My rear fog light has failed (not long after a very minor rear end impact). Basically someone "tapped" the back when SWMBO was driving. There is no damage, it was very low speed. It wasnt immediately but a few days later the dash warning came on.

I managed to remove the bulb, which was fine. All connections appear to be ok aswell. I replaced the bulb just in case, to no avail. I also then checked the fuse, which is also fine. (The light isnt working, its not just the warning)

Any ideas as to what is wrong? The rear number plate lights and reversing light are also functioning normally..

I think I have sussed it. Basically the wire connector goes into a bulb holder, which holds the bulb (obviously )

Anyway, on switching the reverse light bulb holder to the foglight wire, the bulb worked, so I think the bulb holder has been damaged.

By the way, it would take around 2 mins to change either bulb, as long as you are lying on your back, so dealer trip not required!
