Technical Rear door hinges

Hi Guys,


Hope someone can help me...


I have a 02 plate 1.9 fiat doblo. There has been some damage made to the back door and unfortunately the left hand door bottom hinge is damaged and I cannot use this anymore.


Before I find a new rear door for my doblo can someone advise if I am able to replace the hinge myself. When I unbolted it there wasn't a lot of room for movement with the rod. I was thinking of changing the hinge from the right hand door as this door is never used and the left door keeps this in place when they are closed. The right door would still have the top hinge to hold it in place when I open the left door.

You need both hinges on both doors. Even if they are handed (not sure) you'll never get it through an MOT, and it will shake rattle and roll until the catch gives up and the door falls on the road behind you and kills someone. Or something.
You can trouser one easy enough from a scrappy if you're tight for cash, but I doubt they'd want more than a fiver for it anyway, and any door you buy second hand will likely come with hinges. Any door from any age model Dob will fit, including the late facelift, but not the GM / FIAT collaboration model from the past couple of years.
They're on ebay over here for about 20€ - but scrappies on eBay pake the tiss, as we all know.
