Looking for some help with the rear axle mounting bushes on my marea. Fiat apparently dont supply these as spares and are looking for £300 for a complete axle. A friend was speaking to a fiat mechanic and was told that the bushes from a Punto are very similar and could be modified to fit. Can anyone confirm if this is true or not?

If these are the sub frame to body isolation rubber bushes I have been told you can put a crushable exhaust washer in to take up any slack, although the Marea does not usually have a problem here. My mysteriuos "Bump from the Back" turned out to be the front anti roll bar which again is replaced as a unit, I had the drop links changed at the same time at 80K miles and it transformed the car.

I reckon it would be the rear sub frame bushes i need although the guy in the fiat parts department did call it a rear axle.

Renegade- It definately is the rubber bushes as they are perished to the point of falling apart. I dont think packing them out would do any good at all.
