Hi,

Has anyone tried fitting a bigger battery to their Idea and if so what size did you manage to squeeze in instead of the standard 012 Battery ?

My car is the 1.4 16v engine.

I know the diesels have the 027 Battery but wasn't sure if this would fit in the petrol versions.

Having looked on ePER the diesels had a bigger battery tray in order to fit the 027 battery. Does anyone know if you can retro fit this into the 1.4 16v engine bay ?

Hmm, when I measured the battery try in mine was sure the 027 battery wouldn't fit. Will have to get the battery out my old car and see if it does as that's an 027 Battery.

Well tried my 027 battery in the Idea and it wasn't even close to fitting. Wonder if you have the Cold Weather Climate battery tray fitted ?

Anyway contacted my local Fiat dealer and I can still get the parts in order to fit the bigger tray etc. Would just be a 6 day lead time as they would be coming from Italy.
