hi guys comeing over from the Cento section please dont hurt me :p

my dad got a multi 115 jtd on a 51 plate , its got about 63k miles on the clock , the last few days we have been going to the car trying to start it , and it will just turn over and turn over , ON the dash the batt light flashes , Went out in it today , got 10 mile away from home and it cut out , a little play about under the bonnet came up with the batt clamp looked a little loose but it wasnt , tigned up with a spanner and it woundt start , so got towed home ?

any sugggestions to what the prob could be ?:bang::bang:
 
If it's not the loose earth that you've been checking out, then try the crank sensor. Search for threads about it on the forum - it's a common problem. Fairly cheap fix - around £30 for the part plus 30 minutes or so to fit.
 
Crank sensor is on the L/H side, back of the engine (opposite end from gearbox), ramps or axle stands are useful. Look for the sensor wire and follow it.
Relatively easy to get at and IIRC one locating bolt.
