Hi guys/gals,

Not sure how much you read off topic, but we are trying to sort out a Rally at the end of August. Not really a race, more of a few objectives and challenges, etc, over two days.

The link for more details is:

https://www.fiatforum.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=13649

There is also another thread in the leisure lounge which is open for discussion.

Cheers

It does indeed, although I now realise I can't make the Saturday - I will still try and make it to J15a, if that is the confirmed starting point, just to meet people and see them all off.

Team Stu will then try and join in early on Sunday morning, and go right through to Blackpool.

John,

I was well up for the whole weekend rallying, as part of the initial posts on that thread. Then realised got to go to a wedding in Milton Keynes on that Saturday, 3pm till late. Aargh.

But I don't want to let people down, so still intend to catch up early Sunday morning, wherever in the country you may be, and continue on.

This rally is supposed to be a tester for a bigger event next year i.e. we don't want to be too ambitious on our first go. Personally, I like the idea of the challenges in each town, it takes it away from being a race, or just blatting from A to B.

Indeed - the last thing we want is a load of Fiat people racing around the country - there should be challenges, and the winner should be judged on the time taken (with some scaling factor based on type of car) combined with the results of the challenges!

I hope the wedding goes well, and I'm sure you'll enjoy the 2nd half of the event!

If all goes well, I think we'll be back for next year's bigger event also!

Nice Sig, John ;)

I think we decided early on that "rally" time was unimportant - the fun is in the challeges, and I like the idea that extra bonus points for doing stuff [hmmm, full monty, lol] - the winner can buy the first round!

The wedding, p'ah [V]

I am really glad you can make it - the more we get in, the more others will be willing to join next year if a success - Team Ulysses will win the day!

Welcome to the event, Nige.

See an active thread in the LL [use link above] - pghstochaj will add you to confirmed [or not] thread, which is separate :)

Nicked again? What happened? And no, this is not a race, just really a series of challanges over a few days.

Cool - the more the merrier!

Definately no racing involved, however if you have any bright ideas for challenges, make them known in the relevant thread in the Leisure Lounge.....

... I thought you had this flash new detector box thing - was it not working?

John ;)

The new detector doesn't pick up radar, it picks up everything else. I have been done twice now since installing it :-(

Aha..... Looks like you need to supplement it with a radar detector (or just watch your speed!)!!!! :D

I bought the Snooper NEO 4 GPS warningn system - which as John rightly says needs to be added to with a radar detector.....and one has been ordered! It is good to be honest, just as good as Road Angel etc. However do search around to buy one, I got two for £270 each at a show instead of the list price of £399.99 and the radar add on I got for £89 inc delivery instead of £149.99.

Is it worth it... well it has save me from one camera for definent!

Ah, interesting, coz I do fancy buying Road Angel myself. Must check prices though. Two for £270 is a bargain, though, even when you add in radar element.
