Technical Radio wont turn off

Hi, anyone any idea why i can't turn my radio off any more. It does not turn off with ignition or button, the screen does but it does not stop playing the radio.

Is it the only switched live to not turn off?

If it is then faulty head unit, if not then faulty ignition switch

The oem headunit, doesn't have the usual ignition switched power wire to start.
It receives info from the CAN network... digital information (not as simple as power on a wire)

I'd start by reading the Body computer fault codes. Remove the headunit, then erase the codes, and check what other codes come up (might also need a proxy alignment).

If at this point you get no more error codes from the body computer... then consider the headunit junk.

You will need MES with a good ELM327 (some versions are known to cause CAN errors when connecting)

With the info you gave i'd say it's the headunit ... but if you're holding back other errors, other electrical gremlins... no idea.

I'm just another armchair mechanic here ... nothing beats getting your hand dirty and figuring out the problem yourself!

I had a similar problem with the original unit in my Alfa Romeo GT, it random switched on, specialy at night, puzzeling me what was going on..
I tried everything, in the end, I found out that LEAVING a cd in the unit, makes it functioning good again, so from that point on, I leave a CD in.....:shrug:
