Good afternoon,

I have a 2012 Fiat 500 Sport. With the vehicle sitting still for a few days I noticed the radio was on. There was no key in the ignition and when I turn the radio off the radio will turn on again 10 second later. When I start and cut the engine 10 seconds later the radio will turn on again without a key in the ignition.

Looking for any advice where to look for bare wires or shorts.

Thanks in advance!

It is possible to turn the radio on without the key but you can set it to turn off after say 10 mins(in the radio menu on the radio)
However its well known that there are wiring issues with the tailgate wiring that can cause all sorts of problems

On older pandas and punto

there was a common problem with the cd micro switch on blaupunkt radios

What happens if you leave a CD in

On my 2012 fiat 500c radio still has power no matter how long key is out. Battery is dead in 3 days.

Blue&me can get into a knot, if your car has it

Try either

switching removing any USB and manually switch the radio off, switch the ignition back turn the radio on and seeing if it sorted itself out

Or

If there is no USB installed, install a USB with some music and then follow the same procedure above

If neither of those work, try restarting the system, a bit like Alt, Cntrl, Del on a computer, unplug the battery negative for around 5 seconds

If stick a cd in
Usb key with music
Removing any usb keys
Removing the battery terminal for 5 seconds

All don't work

And it stays on for longer than 20 minutes

You need to pug a scantool in that can communicate with the different modules read the codes and actuate the modules

A faulty ignition switch, relay, or control module could be causing the radio to stay on. Check the ignition system, the wiring behind the radio, and the radio's power circuit. If the issue persists, the relay or Body Control Module (BCM) might need to be tested or replaced. If you can't find the problem, a professional diagnostic could help pinpoint the exact cause.
