Radio Code for original MK1 unit

Hi

I have a '97 Bravo HLX which still has it's original Fiat stereo (connected to a Grundig 6 CD changer).

I'm looking to fit an after market unit, but can anyone tell me where the best place is to look to find my old unit's security code (if indeed it has one - I'm not 100%)?

I've been through all of the books and folders I have but to no avail.

There are a few websites which can find it for you.


When you bought the car there should be a little car on the keys with stereo code/security code.
Most people loose this tho.

If you are just worried about the code coming on when you remove it then you can disable the code function on the stereos main menu.
I think you hold down 'exp' for a few seconds to access the menu.
