I'm thinking of buying a speed trap detector (not GPS based), has anyone got any suggestions. I've been looking @ the Bell 550, the snooper S5-R, and the Whistler 945 Euro.

Cheers.

Don't bother with a detector, get a GPS one or learn to obey speed limits ;)

we have a road angle at work. it was really good until we did an update. It seems people log everything as a speed camera, even the traffic flow cameras. Now the bloody thing never stops bleeping. It also does "accident blackspots", this also seems to bleep at every motorway junction!

I've got an S6 neo, it's a little combersome but is good. I'd agree, get a GPS one, that is the most useful part of the whole thing, most of the other things by the time you've picked up the signal it's too late.

cynic-al, with the road angel can switch off the accident back spots alerts and just have it beep when there's a speed camera?

I don't see the point of that feature I personally treat every road as an accident back spot. “Oh look the machine's beeping I better start concentrating on driving”.

Get the new C5 with active lane detector thingy and you can drive with your eyes closed ;)

That would really annoy me! every time you change lanes it beeps!!! It's not like you can't feel the bumps without something beeping at you. It's a poor idea and if that's what they are using to sell the car then it doesn't say much about the car!

I don't know if you can turn the blackspot thing off as i have never read the instructions. I know you can set the didtance it warns you about a camera etc. All i have found is the delete button which removes the accident black spot or bogus camera. I just hope that noone else updates it or they may all come back! The road angle also has a detector for radar guns, but i have never used this, only the gps function.

Something else to be noted about the road angle, the old black ones, like we have, came with a lifetime subscription to the update service, the new silver ones only give you access to the update site for a year or so, you then have to pay an annual subscription.
