Well if insurance companies werent so harsh on young drivers then maybe people wouldnt go to those measures of fronting. For example im 20, 3 years clean licence and 1 years no claims with direct line. My t-jet is set to arrive in mid april more or less exactly 3 months before my 21st birthday. It will cost 1050 with mum as named driver from april to april but from july to july it comes down by £400. Do they think that the day i turn 21 im suddenly going to become a significantly better driver, i think not.
The worse bit is they wont agree to do my insurance pro rata the fooking coonts and say either pay the 1000 or bugger off basically. Which i cant do because i get multi car discount with them thanks to my dad, so if i was to go elsewhere it would cost even more. Also with direct bloody line, you cant do any sort of modification until your 25, not even change your alloys for gods sake. I could go on all day but there is nothing i can do and i wont be fronting because its not worth the risk and is also unfair on other drivers if you wreck their motor and they cant claim of your insurance. However, how they can ever really assertain who is the main driver is open to debate, especially if you live in a friendley neighbourhood where people will look out for you etc.
RANT OVER :bang:
