Hi guys!
I have a fiat punto s 55 from 1994.

Hoping not to disturb here with a small question...

Are there any major differences between the 1108cmc engine type 176a6000 and 176b2000?

So far i noticed that the exhaust manifold is different where it connects to the front exhaust pipe.

I have 176a6000 engine on my carand i want to buy a 176b2000 in order to replace mine or some parts from it (so i can make one good engine out of 2). But i am not sure wheter to buy it or not.

I searched a lot in my country for an 176a6000 engine but they are very rare as far as i seen.

Thank you !:worship:

Help me on this!

can't say i'm an expert on actual engine codes but as far as i can tell from sticking the numbers in google they are both a 1.1 spi FIRE in which case all parts or even whole engine is interchangeable with a Punto55.

Engine wise, you can use stuff from a Punto60 or Cinquecento Sporting or Seicento 1.1 (so long as the seicento is the earlier spi engine and not the later mpi). But not parts from a Punto75, 85 or 90 as they have different engines.

Hope thats of help.

And  welcome to FF

worth adding at this point i suppose if you need a new engine its worth considering dropping a Punto60 engine in, that is a 1242cc rather than the 1108cc you have. It has a bit more torque and an extra 5 or 6bhp than the 1108 and will simply drop in you car and mate up to all the existing wires, ecu etc.

I don't however know what the legal implications of changing engines are in Romania, so do check before doing a conversion.
