I have a problem with the twin rear seat of my Qubo, in the it won’t fold down. I can release the latch at the top rear of the seat, and also the pull handle at the bottom rear, but the seat itself will not fold forward.
Has anyone else had this problem, or knows what the issue is?
Is it just seized up inside? Or is the top latch release part of the issue also - I had to release it manually from the rear, moving the latch with a flat screwdriver.

Hello,

I don't know how the seat in the Qubo look like (I've only been in the Citroen sibling a couple of times many years ago), but there are not many systems to release the seats.

Most of the times I had a similar problem in my cars (at the time I had rear seats...) were related to a blocked seat. Like not fully closed, so the latch and the handle were not able to operate properly the 'lock' that was keeping the seat in place. Perhaps the seat was not closed and locked properly, perhaps there is something in between the lock mechanism and the hook (seatbelt, seat cover?) I'd try to seat 'heavily' on the seat to be sure the lock gets in place and then retry the folding operation. Sometimes you think that the lock mechanism was unlocked, but it's an impression only, as the lever (or handle) worked, but not the lock itself.

Did the folding work before? Are you 100% sure that you're doing it correctly? If the seat is divided (50-50 or rather 60-40 looking at the photos), do both sides have the same problem, or only one of them?

That's how the upper mounting point looks like, perhaps it will give you an idea of what could be blocking:

And that's the seat itself with visible both the top lock and the bottom 'hook':

Thank you for your reply.
The seats are supposed to be able to be folded down, and then the whole seat and base can be folded up on itself behind the front seats, to maximise the boot space.

It’s a twin back seat plus single back seat. The single can be folded down, and folded back behind the drivers seat, no problem.
On the twin seat the top lock can be released (from behind). There isn’t a bottom hook, like your picture.
I can also release the seat base (thus, the seat and back in an open position, rather than folded down) .
The top lock lever doesn’t work (hence having to manipulate the lock from behind).

I haven’t had the car long, and didn’t think to check the seat folding when I bought it.

Thanks for clarifying :)

The external mounts should be symmetrical on both sides, the single + twin.

When there are 3 mount points in such seats:
the hinge in the front of the seat base,
the hook / lock at the back of the seat base and
the hook / lock at the top of the backrest (?)

usually the hinge between the seat base and the backrest is only screwed on both sides here:

The other three elements hold both parts together and in place.

Can you make a photo of the external hook on both sides (twin + single)? Just to compare. In open positions, please.
