Punto1.6 multi jet egr problems

Hi newbie here,I've fitted a new egr valve to my daughters punto 1.6 multi jet and still got problems with egr faults,it makes no difference with the electrics plug on the egr valve or left off the 2 same codes keep coming up the codes are
P0490 and p0409.Any help much appreciated.
