Having problems with a Fiat Punto van (1.3 TD Multijet)
The "check engine" light comes on at somewhere around maximum boost and it goes into limp mode.
The fault code read reports error P0238 (Air supply circuit - Turbocharger Boost Sensor A Circuit High), which FIAT said could be due to either a faulty MAP sensor or air flow meter.
The MAP sensor has been replaced and hasn't fixed the problem. And the air flow meter has been disconnected, which didn't fix the problem either. NEither my local garage or FIAT dealership can offer any further practical advice (FIAT will look at it for £80 per hour with no guarantees of fixing the problem :bang
After a few restarts the fault clears, but as soon as I put my foot down and van hits around 3,000 rpm, the light comes on and I have to limp home.
Anybody got any ideas?
