I've just bought my first Fiat (2005 Punto 1.2 8V 46 000 miles), with the sole purpose of using it in this years Mongol Rally. The Mongol Rally is an adventure where lots of people drive small cars (up to 1.2lt) from Goodwood to Ulan Baatar in Mongolia. If the cars make it then they are donated to charity.

We now have ourselves a Punto for this 10 000 mile challenge, so i thought i'd ask if anyone can advise on how reliable Puntos actually are (the web is full of people claiming otherwise) and also any weak points (ie, when does the cam belt usually go, clutch fail etc).
I will also post this on the Punto pages.
When we reach the finish i hope to prove that the Punto actually IS a reliable car, otherwise it will be a long walk :bang:!!!!!
