punto steering light

hi i wonder if anyone could help i have a fiat punto w 2000 and the steering light has came on and the steering is heavy i heard there bad for their motters but there a pit pricey any idears cheers andy

had to change mine on the seicento guessing its the same system check your fuse first cause if the motor is heavy completly thats probably the cause of it being heavy instead of a dead motor as my motor just died at one side so turn left was light and turn right was heavy

i had to replace my motor in mine which i took the dash board out to do

Yup, pretty much 3 possibilities, fuse, steering ecu/sensor, motor

Check fuse first.

thanks a checked the power comen out the ecu 5 volts is that about right cheers

The steering ecu? Or main ecu

Tbh its more than likely motor, so column replacement job if its not a fuse

Ok, sounds like motor then, the most common fault with that setup tbh
