Hi all,

Looking for some good advice please.

I have a 51 plate Punto Sporting Speedgear. 94000 on the clock.

My gear box has packed up. Wont engage D, R, L. The car was still great to drive so seems a shame to scrap it. I have just taxed, MOT''d, spent 400 + on bits and bobs.

Im in Leicestershire and have rang a few Gearbox garages and they wont touch it. HELP !!!!

Suzanne :bang:

You'll have to go to a fiat main dealer or a specialist fiat garage to get them to work on a problem like that. There's a thread with some reccomended dealers, have a search for it ;)

Hi,

The gear stick moves. However i would usually need my foot on the brake first but it does now move without me doing that. It was fine in reverse but would not drive, unless the accelarator was pressed hard and it eventually jumped to go.

Once it was moving it drove fine apart from when i changed gear i.e. reverse to drive or park to drive. I would move it into drive and it would take about 7 seconds before it would engage the gear and move.

I have no warning lights and it now does not reverse although it starts up fine. Its now stranded at my workplace

Thanks for any help or advice babe

ok, so my only problem is finding a garage and a used box.

lol - im not good with cars - can u tell lol

ok, thanks. Im inclined to cut my losses with it.

I will think it over. Im thinking i would be best to let i go for parts or to someone who can fix it for themselves on the cheap.

leave it with me babe but yeah i may take u up on that. I think i would be best to let it go.

whats it worth with a knackered gearbox/drive belt ? Its in alright condition, maybe needs a little TLC

Not much considering the costs of repair, and rarity of the gearboxes.

And the fact that the speedgears aren't as sought after.
